… after the main drainpipe at the SI Centrum in Stuttgart has been replaced by the service experts of WEIS INDUSTRIES SERVICES® GmbH. The SI Centrum has been a customer of the Esslingen-based company for many years. In the course of a building value conservation project, five WIS employees were assigned to replace the damaged drainpipe on site.

Since the drainpipe services 18 above-ground floors and two basement floors in the SI Centrum, maintenance work could only be conducted at night and in dry weather. Offices, apartments, hotel rooms, a gym, the courtyard and the roof area are all connected to the drainage system. In cooperation with two employees of the SI Centrum’s building services company, Concipio GmbH, the work was conducted from 9pm in the evening until 7am the next morning.

Since the flow of waste water never runs dry completely, the experts used a temporary emergency drainage system to pick up the
slack while replacement work was going on. Business as usual for the »drainage specialists« of WIS. After the new drainpipe, consisting of SML, grey iron and DN 200 was fi nished, the waste water was once again free to rush into the street sewer system.
