Swabian cuisine is well-known and loved beyond the borders of its southern home state, offering pasta delicacies such as maultaschen (ravioli-like meat-filled shells), schupfnudeln (finger noodles) and spätzle (egg noodles). Swabians love home-cooked traditional fare such as hand-cut spätzle and maultaschen lovingly prepared from scratch. But pasta gourmets who lack the necessary time, inclination or cooking skills can always fall back on the fine products offered by Bürger, a traditional food maker from Ditzingen. For three generations, the market leader has been producing traditional Swabian fare in two locations deep in the Swabian heartland, Ditzingen and Crailsheim.
The market leader is a third generation family business, and the excellent quality of their products reflects this sense of tradition. The success of Bürger GmbH & Co. KG is also reflected in the fact that their production facilities keep growing. For several years now, EDMUND WEIS® GmbH & Co KG has been a trusted partner in these efforts. For the expansion of production capacities at the Crailsheim facility, the experts from Waiblingen planned and installed a high pressure steam boiler plant for supplying production plants such as cookers. Included in the project were two gasfueled high pressure steam boilers with an output of 7,300 kg/h saturated steam each with a maximum of 10 bar pressure. A high pressure feed water tank with a carrying capacity of 10,000 liters and a maximum of 6 bar pressure stores the water supply for the boilers.
In addition, the EDMUND WEIS technicians supplied and installed a freestanding double chimney, 30 m tall. The EDMUND WEIS experts installed an eco-friendly three-phase exhaust gas heat recovery system: during the first phase, the feed water is preheated in the so-called boiler-ecos with a 250 kW output. Another two-phase exhaust gas heat exchanger takes care of recovering the sensible (tangible) heat (190kW/boiler). The latent heat (vaporization energy) is recovered with the last heat exchanger phase (290 kW / boiler). This heat recovery system brings the total heat recovery from exhaust gas to approx. 700 kW. The energy recovered in phases 2 and 3 is stored in two drinking water tanks with a capacity of 150,000 liters each.
The EDMUND WEIS team was also in charge of connecting the boiler plants and peripherals. For this purpose, the experts laid a pipe network for steam, condensate, pressurized air, salt water, fully demineralized water, and cold and hot drinking water, made from grade 1.4571 stainless steel, as well as about 250 meters of DN200 gas line with a gas pressure of 900 mbar.
In addition, the underground pipelines for all media leading from the existing building to the new boiler house were installed, welded and put into operation by the twelve members of the assembly team. With the industrial plants installed by EDMUND WEIS, Bürger is now perfectly equipped to delight hungry gourmets all across Germany with their Swabian delicacies.
