Hubert Sajonz, WEIS INDUSTRIES
On February 1, 2009, WEIS INDUSTRIES® GmbH & Co KG welcomed a new team member: Hubert Sajonz.

The 43-year-old chartered engineer (BA) for mechanical engineering and production technology will make his mark in the department of plant engineering.

Mr. Sajonz looks back on 20 years of experience in the sector of elevator technology (distribution, installation and service). In his previous position, he worked as a manager for the global market leader OTIS in Frankfurt. The passionate motorcycle fan loves to travel and finds relaxation in running and dancing.

WZ Ed: What are your functions as the head of plant engineering service at WEIS INDUSTRIES?

H. Sajonz: Of course, to expand the service business and the service mentality. Above all, I want to get acquainted with the existing structures and processes and build up competence and a feel for the business. Following that, it’s important to create transparency within the group, to identify synergies and, wherever it makes sense, to bundle activities. I also think of myself as a link between the individual existing structures. All of this under the aspect of customer retention, customer satisfaction, and, of course, also the expansion of our business.

WZ Ed: How would you describe the challenges that come with your new position?
H. Sajonz: From today’s perspective, the diversity of tasks and products in the various parts of the company appear to be quite a challenge. The expansion of a service-oriented corporate culture will no doubt be an exciting task. Because it is important to do things. In the service sector, it’s also important how to do things.

WZ Ed: What goals do you have set for yourself in your new position?
H. Sajonz: In the medium term, I want to bring our organization to the point where we, together with our custom-ers, will accompany the delivered products until they are updated or completely replaced. This process starts with knowing our customers and continues with mastering our products, educating and further qualifying our team members and culminates in the goal of forging permanent ties with our customers. Beyond that, I want to be a driving force for the acquisition of new customers and products.

WZ Ed: Where do you see room for improvement in the service sector of the WEIS INDUSTRIES companies?
H. Sajonz: That’s hard to say after such a short time. I did notice the non-centralized documentation. I think that the further development of classic service products will be an important issue.

WZ Ed: What is your idea of perfect service?
H. Sajonz: To wow the customer with passion, with the right products and services, with commitment and business savvy.

WZ Ed: What can our customers expect from our company in the future?

H. Sajonz: Presence – in the form of contacts, mailings, product information, visits, the WEISZEIT, etc. But of course also competence and additionally a focus on the product life cycle and the expansion of the business sectors.

WZ Ed: What kind of impetus do you expect from the employees?
H. Sajonz: I would like our team members to be creatively turbulent and to communicate openly. That means to openly formulate ideas and suggestions in order to constantly improve the status quo and to discover new paths as well.

WZ Ed: Mr. Sajonz, thank you very much for this interview.
