Successful project finished at ProSiebenSat1 Media AG
29.04.2010
The reconstruction project at ProSiebenSat.1 Media in Munich posed a completely new challenge for EDMUND WEIS® GmbH & Co KG. Due to the 24 hour operation of essential divisions, the requirements regarding system stability were enormous. Since the media sector almost exclusively works with high performance computers generating considerable heat, the rooms must be cooled down consistently and reliably, all with an eye on energy and cost efficiency.
Computer failure might result in a black screen at viewers’ homes. Of course, such an event must be avoided at all costs. The experts of EDMUND WEIS GmbH & Co KG found the ideal solution for supplying additional recirculation air cooling units within the newly created office space. The special feature in this arrangement is that if a cooling unit breaks down, inessential supply areas are cut off automatically in order to secure the cold water supply for important consumers, such as the computer center. Aside from ensuring system stability, it was also very important to keep the noise in the rooms to a minimum.
The specialists at EDMUND WEIS® GmbH & Co KG succeeded in creating a synthesis between the transference of high cooling loads, noise minimization, and the absence of drafts, thus creating comfortable room temperature conditions. They were in charge of planning, installing and launching the cooling plant, including heat exchanger and pipework.
The customer was also very pleased with the visual integration of the ventilation outlets into the office units. All in all, a resoundingly successful project for an extraordinary customer with special technical solutions.
