BETH filters for Bielefeld municipal services
29.04.2010
In January 2010, BETH® Filtration GmbH successfully completed a project for the municipal service office in Bielefeld. The public utility provider is strongly committed to using renewable energies, considerably surpassing EU mandated requirements in its efforts.
The newly installed BETH electrostatic precipitator is applied in a biomass combustion process fuelled with untreated wood, brush cuttings and green waste. The total scope of the filter system delivered by the Lübeck company included the entire pipeline from the air pre-heater to the smokestack, as well as the entire flue gas purification system with electrostatic precipitator type 300/2F 2.5x3-10 and upstream cyclone type 19.0.
Also included were the dust conveyance system via screw feeders to the pneumatic conveyor container, which conveys the ash into an ash hopper with a capacity of 50 m3. This hopper functions as a temporary storage for the ash and only needs to be emptied every two to three weeks with a tank truck. This solution saves significant disposal costs.
Since the municipal services office also offers guided tours of the power plant, BETH® Filtration GmbH provided three display boards visualizing the entire combustion process. Here, visitors can get an impression of the plant’s performance and capacity.
